Summer and Sunburns

I am sitting here at my computer after a beautiful and relaxing Sunday nursing a slight sunburn and reflecting on recent weeks events. Already my summer is almost over and yet, it really just started. There is really no rhyme or reason so please bear with me.

My brother Kyle left to serve an LDS Mission to the Canada, Toronto West Mission on June 18th. He was so excited to go and we were all excited for him. I have heard from him twice in the almost two weeks since he has been gone and I already can't believe the change. He has grown up so much in the last few months that when we took him to the MTC I almost had a hard time recognising him. He sent me an email and suddenly my brother that doesn't like to talk on the phone and rarely writes more than a paragraph had written me two pages worth of information. The change is amazing!! Needless to say I am proud so I will probably talk about him a lot, so deal with it.

The day after Kyle went to the MTC James and I traveled to Montrose, CO to cater a wedding. It was our first business venture together and it was...interesting. We had a lot of fun, but it was stressful and we were sleep deprived, but it was awesome!! I would do it again in a heartbeat, which I guess is a good thing because we are going back next year for another wedding. Which, by the way, if anyone knows anything about roasting a pig on a spit please let me know...its been requested by the bride and that area of expertise fails me. =] Anyways, the wedding was beautiful and the food was wonderful and everyone had a wonderful time. It was completely worth all of the headaches and stress! We are based in Nevada, but if the price is right we will travel, so let me know...sorry, had to put the plug in. =]

I am using my vacation to catch up on my reading ventures and really enjoying it. I miss reading my large pile of books during school. It is fun to get lost in the stories and lives of others for a while. Right now I am reading about the Tudors of England and finding it fascinating.

I woke up yesterday morning with what I think is a spider bite, but I can't really be sure about it. However, it looks like a spider bit and itches like a spider bite, so I am surmising it is a spider bite. This approach may come back to bite me in the butt, but only time will tell I guess.

Anyways, as exciting as all that was I feel it is time to be done. Let the rejoicing begin!! =] Until next time anyway...
