WICKED California =]

My cousin Tiffany and I have been talking about going to see WICKED for…months, because it is in LA which is close to home. Well about a month ago we decided to do something about it, so we bought tickets for this weekend. Tiffany arrived Friday…late (go airlines, but that is another story =]), we slept for a few hours, woke up and drove the four hours to LA.

If you have not heard the music from WICKED, that’s sad, because it is amazing!! If you had heard the music but haven’t seen the musical, then I highly recommend it!! We had an amazing time!! The music was wonderful, the costumes were beautiful and the acting was great! When it was over we wanted to do it all over again. =]

After the show we decided to drive to the beach and find a restaurant for dinner…easier said than done apparently. After driving around for about an hour (very scenic btw) we stopped to get a map to speed up the process. Somehow we had gone from Hollywood to Malibu in our roundabout tour, but we finally found the beach. And not only that we found beach with mountains!! So, we found the beach, but not really any restaurants (Labor Day Weekend). Therefore as it was almost sunset we, well, basically climbed down a small “cliff” to play on the beach as the tide was coming in. It was fun, Tiffany’s pants got really wet, her shoes almost floated out to sea, my pants got a bit wet and then we were run off the small section of beach by LOTS of water. I managed to take a picture of the wave right before I ran to grab my shoes and then onto higher ground...

After the beach we drove around for another…I don’t even know how long trying to find somewhere to eat…also easier said than done. We finally found a pizza place by the name of Shakey’s. The food was ok, the atmosphere loud and it was an overall…eh…experience. We finished there around 8:45 pm, and hit the road for the long trip back home so we could crash, around 2am and sleep. =]

Overall we had a blast!! Wicked, the beach, and a scenic tour of California all in one day!! Who could ask for more?!
