So, I woke up yesterday to this email in my inbox. It made the whole scenerio with the Lee's Liquor salesperson even better than before.

The difference between our Fu-Ki and the lesser brands appears to be that the plums are "picked at dawn and processed the same day to keep their dewy freshness and flavor..." 9% alcohol, with "other natural flavors" we can only hope are equally dewy fresh.
